It is an electro hydraulically operated obstruction which rises above the ground level preventing any unauthorised intrusions at entry/exit points of high security sites and VVIP zones.
Shallow Mount Road Blockers are unique and reliable Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) products that provide high level security protection against hostile vehicle attacks. Like conventional road blockers,BC401-800 Shallow Mount Road Blockers provide safe access control, in case of a vehicle attack, they prevent the vehicle from moving by damaging the wheels, front and lower parts of the heavy vehicle and provide effective protection and security by disabling it.The system is capable of completing lifting and lowering movement in 3 – 4 seconds without any limitation of usage.Shallow Road Blocker ,a hostile vehicle mitigation solution, provides a high level of protection where deeper foundations are not possible/practice. With a foundation depth of less that 300mm the road blocker is designed as a Vehicle Security Barrier (VSB) and has been independently physically impact tested at the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL)
For the installation of Shallow Mount Road Blockers, there is no need to dig the ground deeper than 400 mm. Therefore, it is a suitable solution in situations where it is not possible to dig deep into the ground compared to conventional standard road blockers.

Shallow Mount Hydraulic Road blockers are designed especially for entrance points which have a threat of vehicle attack or for the ones that have high security requirements. If there is a threat of vehicle attack in addition to the control of vehicle access in high security applications, Hydraulic Wedge Barriers are the unique solution and the most secure systems. Even though the attack is from high tonnage vehicles with high speeds, it’s not possible for the vehicle to keep on moving because of the damage given to front, wheels and the bottom of the vehicle.
The drive unit is hydraulic, but in case of power failure road blocker can be lowered or lifted manually with the help of manual hand pumps. With the help of PLC controlled electronics, raise/lower function can be achieved by every kind of card readers, biometric readers like fingerprint or hand shape, radio control, on/off key switch etc.Besides, safety accessories like dual vehicle safety loop detectors and red/green lights can be provided as accessories in the system.
